The legal action alleging systematic sexual misconduct by former Indiana University basketball team physician Bradford Bomba Sr. has expanded with the addition of a fourth plaintiff, according to court documents filed Monday. Larry Richardson Jr. has joined the lawsuit, alleging he was subjected to sexual assaults conducted under the pretext of medical examinations.
The amended complaint also incorporates new historical evidence from 1979, detailing an incident where an unnamed player reportedly informed then-coach Bobby Knight about Bomba’s allegedly unnecessary examinations, with Knight purportedly taking no remedial action. This addition strengthens the plaintiffs’ core allegation that Indiana University systematically failed in its legal duty to protect student-athletes from sexual misconduct.
The expanded litigation now includes four named plaintiffs—John Flowers, Haris Mujezinovic, Charlie Miller, and Larry Richardson Jr.—who collectively allege “systemic sexual assaults and sex-based harassment under the guise of medical care.” While Bomba, who invoked Fifth Amendment protections during deposition proceedings, is not named as a defendant, former athletic trainer Tim Garl is included among the defendants. In response to the escalating allegations, Indiana University has commissioned an independent investigation through external legal counsel.
